Sarah James Fulcher Redfish Tournament
Sarah James Fulcher Foundation’s flagship fundraiser, the Sarah James Fulcher Redfish Tournament, is an annual event in honor of Sarah James Fulcher – a native of Down East who’s love for the ocean and nature, and her family, inspired a community to come together. 2020 was the third year of the tournament. In 2018 – we raised over $45,000 for a new inclusive play set being installed at Eastern Park in Smyrna, NC. In 2019, we beat those figures to raise $60,000. In 2020, we exceeded all expectations in a year of a pandemic, operating at limited capacity and under strict COVID-19 protocols, to raise more than $70,000. In 2021, The SJF Tournament broke the WORLD RECORD for a Redfish Tournament Payout with the Ramsey Family Calcutta, over $63,000 for first prize and the Calcutta.
